Nice lyrics, but I dunno about best songwriter. Shinedown takes that honor in my book for "If You Only Knew" -

i'll have to listen to that 5 or 6 times to make an objective opinion. but still, how can you beat "crowns of words i've woven" or "rhythms made of spring"...
